Greenhalgh Blue Bus Lines, later Grenhalgh Coachline, ran 2 VALs. 1238 had a Hawke DP52+17F body. After 10 years service with Greenhalgh 1238 went to Turley Motors in Te Aroha for a further 21 years. It was bought from Turleys by Peter Hancock and converted to a movan in 1998. It still has the original Leyland 0400 engine.
